How long should I wait before asking for a credit line increase with a newly opened account?

Hello, I was wondering how long is customary to wait to ask for a Credit Line Increase with a new credit card?

Establish a payment history with the creditor first. Six months as was suggested is a good idea. Sometimes creditors will 'pre-approve' you for a credit line increase after a while, and they will simply raise it when you ask. Just be careful about asking too often and make sure they aren't running inquiries on your credit history every time, as that can hurt your FICO score.
Reply:At least 6 months.
