How do you stop a password-protected user account from logging in automatically on restart?

I have two user accounts. They both are password-protected. If you restart the computer, one particular account always logs on automatically and you can see the Desktop, etc. How can I stop this from happening?

That shouldn't be happening by default. If you've added a password to an account, it should require you to log in at the Welcome screen.

It may be that you've enabled auto-login somehow. Try deleting the following Registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SOFTWARE

Microsoft

Windows NT

CurrentVersion

Winlogon

DefaultPassword
