How do you deposit a check to a joint account?

Here's a deal, my husband and I have a joint account and I was wondering when he gets his paychecks. Do I need him to sign the back just once or more than once for me to be able to deposit the check without him? What would I need essentially to be able to deposit this and future paychecks under his name and I was the only one available to physically deposit it in the bank. Would I need more than one signature? What else?

He signs the back of the check. You fill out a deposit slip and that's all there is. My husband of 25 plus years has never been to our bank
Reply:Just write on the back of the check "for deposit only." Since his name is on the account, there won't be a problem. He only needs to sign it if you are getting cash back. In that case, you would also sign the check below his signature.
Reply:A "For deposit only" endorsement on the back works just fine.
Reply:He only needs to endorse the check once. Once the bearer signs is, anyone can deposit it. For this reason, I would recommend adding the following below his endorsement:

"for deposit only"

%26lt;the name of you bank%26gt;

%26lt;your account number%26gt;

Between direct deposit, on-line banking, and an ATM at my work site, I have not set foot in a bank in ages.
