If you have no credit card or checking account, how can you purchase items off the Internet?

In other words, if you are a cash only user, is it still possible to participate in the ecommerce revolution? Is there a way to purchase any item off the Internet via a cell phone? Can I buy points or a a stored value card and use that card on the Internet?
If you have no credit card or checking account, how can you purchase items off the Internet?
Some banks offer a "gift card" which is basically a debit card which you prepay. No account required. We got some last year for a trip and they worked great like travelers checks, but you could use it just like a credit card. Made a coupla internet purchases with one and worked great there too. Just can't use em for any subscription services.
Reply:You can get 'secured' credit cards from your bank, where you put down a balance and the credit limit is whatever balance you put down. If you don't want to do this and use only cash, I don't think so, unless you can buy a gift card from a store and use it online.

You don't need a checking account, there's no credit check, its a pre-paid Visa card and you use it like a debit card. You can pay bills online, get direct deposit for your paycheck even if it's government benefits plus a lot of other features. And I use it for shopping on the net too.I like it.
Reply:You can buy pre-paid credit cards (usually from a Bank of America or even at a gas station) but as I told my Mom, you've got to move into the 21st century with the rest of us and get a checking account with a debit card.
Reply:Most companies on the Internet have physical addresses where you can mail money orders and place an order that way. Or go to your local bank and get a credit card that you pay in advance. You open an account and put say $500.00 in the account and you have a card and it is good for only that amount. It also will give you credit. So in the future you can apply for a credit card if you want.
