What happens to the money in our savings account when we die?

I'm just wondering about where will the money in our bank accounts go if we die and we don't have a will regarding who's going to claim it.
What happens to the money in our savings account when we die?
It really depends on what state your in. Usually, it goes to your husband. If there's no husband, then your children. And so forth.
Reply:There is a way for the law to figure out who it will go to even if you dont have a will. First it's your spouce and kids, then parents, then brothers, then decendants and acendants, and if no one is found, it will go to the state. Depends on your state how much of that money will be left after tax.
Reply:If there is no will, all of the monies are added up and become part of the estate. The funeral bill + headstone etc is deducted from this estate. Debts are then paid off if there is any money left. Then teh money gets divided up depending on living relatives, ie husband/wife first, kids, parents, brothers and sisters, uncles/aunts etc etc
Reply:First of all, get a will done. This will tell your money where to go. It will become part of your estate when you die. If you do not have a will, it will go to probate court and get tied up and eaten up forever. Get a will done now.
Reply:The money will be distributed to your relatives according to the laws of your state (in some place, it will go to your spouse, some places to your kids etc)
Reply:It becomes part of your estate.

State law/probate will determine who your heirs are and if there is any money left after expenses, they will get it.
Reply:it becomes part of your estate which will be taxed because of the inheritance tax and then it will be distributed
Reply:it goes intestate. court decides next of kin.
