The account is for a person who had and accident and we are having a fund raiser. All the funds are being donated to a cause to help with the expenses that have occurred.
I need to open a bank account for a fundraiser. What type of account should I open?
You could open a DBA account (Doing Business As)
You basically put the name of the fundraiser on the bank account so people can write checks to it, etc... but its just a title...
the bank account is actually in your name.
I.E.
Jane Doe DOING BUSINESS AS "Fundraiser X"
Reply:i'd just go/call the bank you plan on opening an account with and ask them.
